C8 Ltd

10 Years in the Making

Ten years ago, C8 began with a small team, a borrowed office and an ambition to bring a fresh approach to the industry.

A decade later, a lot has changed.

The team has grown, the projects have become bigger and more ambitious, new areas of the business have emerged and, this year, we reached another major milestone with the opening of our new headquarters at Normandie Industrial Estate.

As part of our 10th birthday celebrations at our new Normandie home, we created a special film telling the story of C8’s first decade. Featuring founders and directors Ian Le Sauvage and Nick Reid, alongside key members of the team who have helped shape the business along the way, the film looks back at where it all began, the milestones that followed and what comes next.

From small beginnings

C8’s growth happened quickly. From five people at the beginning to around 12 by our first Christmas, the business continued to expand as new projects, clients and opportunities came our way.

But those early days established something that has remained important throughout the past decade: relationships.

“We were known in the market because we were the faces behind the jobs. It wasn’t just the company, it was the people doing the job,” Nick said.

That people-first approach has helped C8 build lasting relationships with clients, partners and colleagues – and has remained a constant even as the business around it has changed.

Projects, growth and new opportunities

Projects have been at the heart of the C8 story from the beginning.

Mourant Ozannes was an early milestone – the first major project that made the team realise they had built something with real potential. Since then, the scale and complexity of the work has continued to grow, including Admiral Park, C8’s biggest project to date.

The business has evolved too. What began with a focus on projects has expanded into maintenance and specialist services, alongside businesses including Vent and C8 Eco.

Much of that growth has come from listening to clients, recognising where the market is heading and having the confidence to pursue new opportunities.

A new home – and a new chapter

Our new headquarters at Normandie Industrial Estate is perhaps the clearest sign yet of how far C8 has come – and made it a fitting place to celebrate our 10th birthday with the people who have been part of the journey.

It brings the businesses together, gives our growing team more space and provides a home designed not only for where we are today, but for where we want to go next.

And that future is about more than growth.

Creating opportunities for the next generation, while continuing to evolve with our clients and our industry, is an important part of the next chapter.

There’s an enormous amount to be proud of from our first decade – but none of it would have happened without the brilliant people, trusted clients and partners who have been part of the journey.

We don’t know exactly what the next 10 years will bring. If the first decade has taught us anything, it’s to embrace opportunity, keep evolving and never stand still.
