A smart solar investment at Guernsey Clematis Nursery
At Guernsey Clematis Nursery, C8 recently completed the installation of a 16kW solar PV system above the main glasshouse offices. Engineered for optimal performance, the system is already generating up to 100kWh of electricity on bright days, directly offsetting daytime energy use on-site.
Since going live, the system has produced over 30 megawatt-hours of clean energy, reducing reliance on grid electricity and cutting carbon emissions. With energy consumption aligned to daylight hours, the solar output is used in real time - resulting in significant savings and a projected five-year return on investment.
