Alba

We were proud to deliver a comprehensive design and build solution for Alba, an exciting new restaurant set within a stunning listed property in Market Square, St. Peter Port.

From the outset, this was a project that demanded both technical precision and sensitivity to heritage. The building retains original features, including listed butchery tiles that could not be disturbed. Our challenge was to install a comprehensive air conditioning, ventilation, and kitchen extract system across two kitchens – one in the basement, one open-plan – while preserving the historic fabric.

We worked closely with the architects at StudiO, whose concept for a freestanding steel framework in the open kitchen enabled all services to be suspended without any fixings into listed surfaces. C8 designed all systems to work within this structure, ensuring the building’s integrity was maintained. Existing ductwork was reused where viable and supported by new roof-mounted extraction, carefully sized to meet the demands of the upgraded system.
