We were delighted to deliver the mechanical design and installation for Fukku, a striking new Japanese restaurant in Guernsey.
Having previously worked with Sam Jarrold, he came to us direct, confident in our ability to realise his vision for a large open kitchen and back-of-house prep areas within a tight, fully tenanted building.
Working closely with Sam and Chris from StudiO, we developed a coordinated scheme to accommodate extensive ventilation and air conditioning systems while keeping them discreetly integrated within the restaurant’s aesthetic. Every detail was considered to balance performance with design intent.
Space constraints made the project particularly complex. The main extract fan and AC condensers were mounted on the roof, with ductwork routed through a redundant lift shaft to maximise efficiency within the limited footprint. Despite these challenges, the result is a clean, expressive installation — much of it left purposefully exposed to complement the interior’s modern industrial style.
Smart, efficient, and collaborative — engineering that fits the space as well as the concept.
